TECNOUS / PRIVACY

Privacy policy

Your information. Your choices.

01. About this policy

Tecnous (“we”, “us”) operates the Tecnous mobile app and website and is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Tecnous provides business education, learning tools, and information for founders.

This policy explains what information is processed when you use the app, create an account, visit our website, join the waitlist, or contact us. For privacy requests, email tecnousapp@gmail.com.

02. Information we collect

Account and sign-in information

When you register with email and password, we process your name, email address, password in hashed form, account identifier, and account creation and update information. Our authentication service also stores sessions, their expiry times, IP addresses, and user-agent information supplied with requests to maintain and protect your sign-in.

If you choose Apple or Google sign-in where offered, we receive the provider’s account identifier and the profile information it makes available, such as your name, email address, and profile image. Apple may supply a private relay email address. We process provider credentials and tokens to authenticate you and associate the sign-in method with your Tecnous account; we do not receive your Apple or Google password.

Information stored on your device

Your learning progress, quiz attempts and results, saved content, activity statistics, startup ideas and answers, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. The current app does not upload this learning or startup-idea data to our servers or send it to an AI provider. Downloaded catalog content is also cached locally. Sign-in credentials are kept in the iOS Keychain. Device backups may include local app data according to your Apple backup settings.

Connection and service information

When the app requests content or authenticates, our infrastructure processes network and request information, including IP addresses, request paths, timestamps, response status, and errors. This information supports content delivery, troubleshooting, and protection against abuse. Loading images or other media also makes a request to the server hosting that content.

Website waitlist and support

Our waitlist form collects your email address and a label identifying the signup form and its language. When you email us, we receive your address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. Please avoid including sensitive information that is unnecessary for your request.

03. How information is used

We use account information to register and authenticate you, maintain your session, and provide access to the app’s content. Local app data lets you resume learning and use your saved work. We use service information to operate, secure, and troubleshoot Tecnous, and contact information to answer requests and send the access updates you requested through the waitlist.

Where the GDPR applies, we process information necessary to provide the service you request on the basis of performing our contract with you. We rely on legitimate interests to protect and maintain the service and respond to enquiries, and on consent for optional waitlist updates. We may also process information where required to meet a legal obligation. You can withdraw consent by contacting us, without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

The current mobile app does not include advertising tracking, third-party product analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, in-app payment processing, or transmission of your content to third-party AI services. Server operational logs are separate from advertising or product analytics. We do not sell your personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.

04. Service providers & sharing

We use service providers to operate Tecnous. They receive the information needed to perform their role:

  • Cloudflare: hosting and delivery of our website, API and authentication service, network security, and operational logs and traces.
  • Authentication and database infrastructure: our Tecnous-operated authentication service uses Better Auth software and PostgreSQL to store account, linked sign-in, and session records. Better Auth is the authentication software, not an additional social sign-in provider.
  • Apple and Google: authentication when you choose their sign-in options. Their handling of your provider account is also governed by their own privacy policies.
  • Web3Forms: processing and delivery of website waitlist submissions.
  • Google Gmail: delivery and storage of messages sent to our published contact address.

Service providers processing information on our behalf must protect it to the same or an equivalent standard described in this policy and use it only for the authorized service. We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to protect users, enforce our rights, or investigate abuse.

Providers may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where applicable, transfers must be covered by an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.

If you open an external resource from Tecnous, that service handles your visit under its own privacy policy.

05. Retention & deletion

Account records are retained while your account exists. Authentication sessions are configured to expire after 30 days and can be renewed through continued use; API access tokens expire after 15 minutes. These validity periods do not mean that all operational logs or expired database records are automatically erased at the same time.

Delete your account

In the app, open Profil (Profile) → Usuń konto (Delete account) and confirm. A successful request deletes your user record, linked authentication records, and server-side sessions, and clears the app’s saved sign-in session. You may need to sign in again before a sensitive account action. If deletion fails or you cannot access your account, contact tecnousapp@gmail.com.

Account deletion leaves local learning progress and saved work on the device. To remove that local data, delete the app using iOS’s Delete App option; offloading the app preserves its documents and data. Manage any device backups separately through your Apple settings. Deleting the app alone does not delete your server-side Tecnous account.

We retain support messages and waitlist information only as needed to handle your request or provide the updates you requested. You can request removal from the waitlist at any time. Operational records are retained only as needed for security, troubleshooting, and legal obligations. Any residual backup copies are subject to the infrastructure’s backup lifecycle and are not used to restore a deleted account to active use. Information that must be retained to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute is limited to that purpose.

06. Your choices & rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing tecnousapp@gmail.com. Where applicable, you may also request a portable copy, restrict processing, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

You can withdraw consent to optional communications by contacting us. You can manage access granted to Apple or Google sign-in in your provider account settings. Revoking provider access or signing out does not itself delete your Tecnous account.

If the GDPR applies, you may complain to your local data protection authority, including the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO) in Poland.

Security

The production app connects to our services over HTTPS. Password-based authentication uses hashed passwords, and the app stores its sign-in session in the iOS Keychain. Access tokens expire and authentication requests are rate limited. No storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security.

Children’s information

Tecnous provides entrepreneurship and business education and is not designed as a service for young children. If you believe a child has supplied personal information without any legally required parental authorization, contact us so we can investigate and address the information.

07. Changes & contact

We may update this policy as Tecnous develops or our data practices change. The date above identifies the latest update. Where required, we will notify you of material changes and obtain consent before introducing processing that requires it.
